Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s report! This week has been super busy as it is JJFISHWEEK! This is the week that is full of fun and excitement for everyone getting ready to fish for 1.5 million dollars in the Jimmy Johnson National Billfish Series! Crazy right? Well, it’s true and we are in it. Wish us luck on Friday and Saturday, so if you see a bunch of boats out there flying kites that is what’s going on. On the fishing side of things the swordfish continue to bite! Not a lot of big fish this week, but a few nice one’s over 100 pounds I’m told. On the humps the blackfin tunas have shown up as well as the AJ’s, and if you have the live bait it appears there are some nice BFT’s there. The troll and jigs will produce some decent fish so you can check that out if you don’t have livies. The deep reef has been good with a decent bite of mutton snappers and king mackerel. Not much from the wahoo scene this week, but with this cool snap we got going on this weekend who knows. The reef bite from the yellowtails has been tough all week as the water has been gin clear. They are there, and you can see them in the chum, but even with sand getting them to eat was difficult. We caught what we needed and moved on. Although, the water was starting to look a little dirtier on Thursday, so with this front and wind direction I will bet you will end up ok for the weekend if the cooler temps don’t shut them down. Might spark up the patch reefs as well one last time before spring officially starts! A few sailfish around, but not too many and a lot that we are seeing aren’t biting. Hoping it picks up before Friday rolls around, and the tourney starts. Anyway, the bait has been good and the fishing has been pretty darn good if you like variety. That’s it for now, see you next week!
