The wreck fishing this week has been decent as we have been approaching this full moon. The Mutton Snapper fishing is getting ready to go off, so we are really looking forward to this. We are also in our countdown to opening day of Grouper Season on May 1st. These guys have been chewing on nearly everything you send down, so it definitely won’t take long to get your limit of these guys once May 1st gets here. Still some Kings around on the wrecks, and a few good catches of Wahoo late last week, so there are definitely some fish in the area. Once the weather calms down this weekend, a little high speed trolling or live baiting with the speedos might yield you that zebra you have been looking for.
The reef is in full swing right now with the Snappers spawning and the current flowing nicely southwest. There are plenty of hungry fish out there, so no reason not to make a great adventure out of your trip. Good numbers of Groupers in all these Yellowtail spots as they are eating them during the spawn. You can see them stack up below the school of Yellowtails when you get the chummed up, and plenty of them have been eaten while reeling them in. It is nice to see them in such good numbers, as the conservation effort of closing them during their spawning season has been a wonderful thing.
Well, that is it for this week, and if you need anything you know where to find me! Have a great weekend!
