Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s report! Fishing has been pretty darn good this week, and the weather has been beautiful! The offshore fishing has been great, even with lacking some Mahi earlier in the week. The Blackfin Tunas, Amberjacks, Almaco Jacks, and Sharks have been insane on the humps. We have managed to find a few Mahi, but until today there hasn’t really been too much to talk about. It is really strange out there as the current is actually going Southwest offshore, and I can only remember a few other times this has happened, but it is really strange to drift to the West or Southwest when you are 15 miles offshore. The Gulfstream data from the Government says its 13 nm off of Alligator Reef light, but I was there today and it was super weak if it was. Anyway, the Mahi fishing was better today so hopefully that is good news for what is to come this weekend. The Swordfish grounds have produced a few fish this week, but nothing red hot. Although, it only takes one to make it worth the while! The wrecks earlier in the week had the Muttons biting, a few Kings, groupers, and the usual supporting cast of Bonitas and Cudas, but the last 2 days it has slowed down. Maybe by the weekend they will spark up? We will have to wait and see on that one. The reef has been decent this week as well despite the cleaner water earlier in the week, but there was a dusting on the reef today, and with the good SW current that is out there they should have bitten really well. I didn’t receive a report on this today, but they were biting well yesterday in the clean water, so I am sure they will continue throughout the weekend. Bait has been a little on the tough side this week, but I suppose it can’t be easy all the time! A couple nice schools of Pilchards that are really good at the disappearing act, but luckily we have been able to get enough before they were completely gone. Ballyhoo and Cigar Minnows on the usual patches as well as blue runners. The weather for the weekend looks a little sketchy starting Saturday night as the front moves around, but the winds on Saturday look great. Could be some nasty weather with storms Saturday night into Sunday, but we all know how that goes. If you really want to know what the weather is doing go poke your head outside! Let’s hope that it keeps stalling and makes for both Saturday and Sunday to be beautiful!
Well, that is it for this week! Hope everyone has a great weekend, and if you need me you know where to find me!
