Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s report! This week has been a bit on the windy side, and the way it is blowing outside right now is downright tropical! The winds are blowing about 30 mph right now as I write this, and it doesn’t look good for the weekend at all. Almost everyone I know has been cancelled already as the wind is forecast to gust to 40 mph over the weekend making it simply unsafe to go fishing. This week has been productive on the fishing front, as the offshore bite remains pretty good with some Sailfish, Mahi, Kings, Tunas, and even a couple Wahoo. No one made it out to the Sword grounds that I know of, and if they did it wasn’t pretty with all the wind. The wrecks have been pretty good this week, as the Kings and Muttons were biting, and the reef was solid with some really nice Yellowtails and a few Groupers. A lot of things are going to change with this wind, so it will be interested to see how it unfolds after it stops. If the current gets blown in really close it will be epic, but as of yesterday there wasn’t much current at all, as everything was wind driven. Enough to get plenty of bites on the reef, but for the Sails and other Pelagic’s to really get moving we have to get some east current in here. It will all fall into place for sure, but for now we have to wait until this wind subsides, and we will go from there. Well, short and sweet this week, so I will report back next week with hopefully a better forecast on weather and fishing!
