Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s report! The fishing this week has been good, but more consistent still with summertime fishing than winter. Still some Dolphin and Tunas around, with only a few Sails mixed in, so we are still anxiously awaiting a cool front to enter our area. The water temps are still sitting in the low 80’s, and with reports of fish above us it shouldn’t be much longer. The Kings and Wahoo are starting to show up in better numbers, and some really nice Tunas have moved in on the deep edge of the reef, and are hanging around the deeper wrecks. The reef bite remains consistent with good numbers of Snappers, and wrecks are producing nice Mutton’s and Groupers. Plenty of Cero Mackerels on the reef too, so plenty to catch for sure. The patch reefs are starting to get hot as fish are moving inshore to take advantage of the shrimp run that should start any time now, as we will surely get a cool front soon. Once this happens winter fishing should be in full swing. Things are just a little behind schedule, but not too surprising as the weather patterns are obviously changing so we will just have to adjust accordingly. Plenty of bait around, and plenty of fish to make for great days of fishing, so I suppose we will just have to enjoy the extended summer season while it last!
