Hey everyone, back with a report after the holidays! The weather has been pretty unpredictable down here but we have been managing to get out and CATCHALOTTAFISH! The Sails have been moving in a little better each day as we have had a few fronts come through and slowly but surely move some fish into our area. With another cold front on the horizon, this should be the key to really kicking this fishing into high gear. We have been managing at lease a couple/ few shots each day, and the rest has been filled in with Kings, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Snappers, Groupers, AJ’s, and Yellowtails. Plenty of fish being caught, but for my customers that specifically like to target the Sails, it has been OK, but not what we are really used to. I think all of this is going to change early next week and we should start seeing more shots every day for the next month or so. The reef and wrecks have been good, with the patch reefs really starting to heat up. This should get even better after this next front as well. We have been forced to fish in the Bay and Gulf a few times over the past couple weeks, but the fishing back there has been excellent. The Spanish Mackerel, Sharks, Snappers, and Groupers have been happy so that is our “plan B” when the weather is howling on the oceanside. Plenty of variety all around, and for most this is a great thing! Our calendar is filling up fast, but we have 3 boats in our fleet so please give us a call when you are ready to book your trip! For those of you who have been following us on Facebook you are pretty up to speed on the new boat, for those of you that haven’t the new Freeman 34VH will be here on the 26th. We are excited to start a new chapter here at Catchalottafish Charters, and can’t wait to see you all! I hope the Holidays treated everyone well, and Santa brought you everything you asked for! See you soon!
